Butters The Bean

 

So there I was, 10 months old, young, playful and in kitty jail. I don’t remember much before this time, but I was taken from a home and placed behind bars along with many others of my kind. Then one day an older lady took me and my sister into her home, she was my foster mom. I then found myself behind bars AGAIN, but this time it was in a place called Petsmart. Human came and went fawning over me and the others.

 

Then one day a set of humans who are now my humans came in and looked at all of us. They were searching for a kitty and originally wanted a girl kitty because human had grown up with 3 boys. My sister who was a tortoiseshell was hamming it up. Human really liked her and this big tabby in the cell next to us, I laid in the back of my cell purring. The humans went home to discuss who they were going to bring home.

They had tried to adopt a small Manx cat the previous weekend at a Petsmart adoption event, but the shelter that she came from was giving them a hard time because they were young. A few days later they went to their shelter to adopt this cat, and no one was there. Human called them throughout the week, and when she got ahold of them, they said she had been adopted. Human was willing to adopt the kitty who had been next to the Manx cat, but at this point, the shelter was being too difficult.

 

The humans had made up their minds that they were going to adopt my sister, but when they got there the following night, she was gone. The other 2 female kitties were gone as well, only I remained. It was late in the evening, and my foster mom was there getting ready to take me home until the humans walked in. They discussed that they were interested in a kitty, and human held me, I got overly excited and began to wheeze. Humans agreed to adopt me, so they filled out some forms, and I went home with them. I meowed all the way home and all my first night home. I also wouldn’t leave human’s side and had to keep an eye on her because I was in a new space. Human believes that we were meant to be together hence why the other kitties didn’t work out. And that is my story!
